The Birla Radha Krishna Mandir in Goa was constructed by the Birla family and inaugurated in 2023. The foundation stone for the temple was laid in 2021, and it was completed in just 22 months with the help of over 1,500 artisans and craftsmen
The temple was inaugurated in May 2023 by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Avimukteshvaranand Saraswati in the presence of Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and members of the Birla family. The temple is part of the various temples constructed across India by the Birla family, known for their deep-rooted spiritual consciousness. It is the latest addition to the over 30 Birla temples across the country, including the iconic Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Delhi and the revered Vishwanathji Temple in Kashi.
The Birla Radha Krishna Mandir in Goa showcases a magnificent architectural design that combines traditional Indian elements with contemporary aesthetics. The temple, designed in a Nagara style by architect Nomi Bose, is a testament to exquisite craftsmanship and intricate detailing.
Crafted primarily from white Makrana marble sourced from Rajasthan, the temple complex features five elegant shikharas (temple towers) that add to its grandeur. The intricate artistry displayed in the temple includes a harmonious blend of floral motifs, mosaics, and sacred symbols meticulously carved over two years.
The temple’s entrance, adorned with peacocks and lotuses, exudes a sense of allure, while the engraved lotus on the ceiling captivates visitors with its beauty and symbolism. The front gate of the temple, known as Singh Dwar (Lion Gate), leads devotees through five flights of stairs, each representing a stage in one’s life journey.
